Mark dedicates the majority of his gospel to the miracles that Jesus performed more than any of the other gospel writers. For Mark, these miracles were affirmations of Jesus’ power – over disease, deformity, death and even nature. Many flocked to Him to be healed and to witness these God-given miracles.
There are many times in my life that I said, if only I could have witnessed the miracles of Jesus to completely confirm my faith. However, the more I’ve read and researched the documented gospels of these miracles, the more I realised that these miracles still happen around us, without us evening knowing; they just occur in a different manner. By faith and prayer through the name of Jesus Christ, we are able to invite the Holy Spirit of God into our lives and witness the omnipotent power in the miracles that happen around us.
By recalling all God has already done in my life, it was easy to appreciate that I didn’t need to be there in the crowd witnessing any of Jesus’ miracles. The simplistic view of a sunrise in its majestic beauty is the first indication of the existence of a true miracle every single day. God’s blessings are new every morning, so keep strong thy faithfulness.
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Take the time today to see the miracles in the beauty around you; slow down, relax and admire the perfection in God’s creation.
Reflect on your past and those moments in your life where God has produced miracles that you prayed for and received even without prayer. Remember those miracles that you have already forgotten about.
