Routines that Reap Rewards

“It is always easier to fight for one’s principles than to live up to them.” – Alfred Adler

Draughting our plans and goals is so much easier than implementing them and following through. I’ve created so many principles to live by, but putting them into practice is where the difficult work begins.

What I have come to understand is that routines which are beneficial to me often begin as a tedious process that I find little enjoyment in doing. It’s only once the process becomes dedicated practice, that I start finding pleasure in the results. These results are developed through dedication and consistency. However, we are limited to our resources and capabilities.

If you are looking for solutions that are beyond your ability, then the element of faith in a greater force is required. Faith is the belief in something we don’t have all the answers for. It is an uncomfortable feeling that we allow our hearts to rely on when circumstances are out of our control. Having faith in the promises of God’s Word is without a doubt, the best place for us to place our hope and prayers. Firm faith in the promises of our Creator will inevitably result in positive outcomes, often resulting in an improvement of character.

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

‭‭- John‬ ‭14:12-14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Today, put pen to paper and develop a simple set of routines that you know you can apply everyday; choose wisely and pray for guidance in these endeavours.
