Are You Ashamed of the Gospel?

“If you want something new, you have to stop doing something old.”

-Peter F. Drucker

You can teach an old dog new tricks. Just ask any believer that gave their life to Christ in their later years.

I have heard multiple testimonies of scientists, historians, doctors and theologians that were so firm in their own belief systems about the world and their lives. They would march around parading their self-achievements and bask in their pride. They would scorn and talk down upon the concept of Christianity, regarding it as complete rubbish. I always find humour in their stories as soon as they realise their own doubtful errors.

“Worthy is your name Jesus, you deserve the praise, worthy is your name.” When I reflect on the life I used to live in my “physical man”, I have to remind myself to not dwell on the sins of my past. I usher myself to take the lesson and swiftly move on because our Saviour does not want us to dwell there. To dwell there means to remain at the foot of the cross. As reviving as that may be, Christ is no longer there and neither should we be.

Jesus has already redeemed us and so instead of looking for Him on the cross or in the tomb He was buried, we must remember that He is Risen and the same Spirit that raised Him now lives inside each of us. Which brings me to the person I am today… I strive daily to be sanctified by God’s Grace as I walk in my “spiritual man”. I am no longer a slave to evil, I am a Child Of God.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”

‭‭-Romans‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

If the reward of Faith in Christ is Eternal Love & Life in Pure Perfection, how daft are we as a society to NOT put it at the top of our to-do-list?
