Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right! – Henry Ford
We all have much more power in us than we could ever comprehend. Our thoughts have controlling power over our lives. Our words spoken can either make life or destroy it. Our actions distribute a chain reaction of events that eventually escape our control.
So many people walk around feeling defeated, unworthy and irrelevant. You might be one of them. You might feel like your life has no real value and that if you had to disappear off of the face of the earth, no one would notice. Maybe you feel as if you’re better off dead than alive. Perhaps you can no longer see the light in the darkness and it’s all just become a bland blend of meaningless, motionless madness.
My friend, I’m here to tell you that I notice you and you matter!
I can confidently say this because it’s what my Father tells me every day.
He raised me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and mess in my life. He set my feet on solid ground and held me tight, guiding me as I began walking again, making my steps secure. (Psalms 40:2)
The reason you cannot see the light in the darkness is not your fault. There is a force in this world that wants to see you defeated and miserable. The devil roams around like a roaring lion looking for a prey to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) Once he finds you in your weakness, his main objective is to steal from you, kill the best parts of you, those parts that God so lovingly designed. Ultimately, he wants to destroy you, because your very existence reminds him of God’s undying love for you. (John 10:10)
I tell you right now, be wise the words you profess over your life every moment. Your words have a resounding power to speak life into your future as well as your surroundings. It might not have immediate impact, but believe you me, impact it certainly has. (Mark 11:21-26) Think before you speak is advice passed down through the centuries because of the power of words. Remember, God breathed life into all creation through the Word; His words brought everything into existence. Look at Genesis chapter one and see how many verses begin with “and God said”.
If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it. – Genesis 4:7 NIV
