“As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being redirected to something better.”
– Steve Maraboli
Let go of your mistakes and failures. You can’t do anything about the past, but you can most certainly do something about right now. How often do you find yourself getting lost in thought about the things that affect you negatively?
We all fall into this trap! We allow our thoughts to steal our time and corrupt our productivity by clinging to the things that we regret or that stress us out. I find hope in the fact that it is possible to change the way we think by allowing only positive, beneficial, and joyful thoughts to run through our minds. Having the ability to realize what your mind is doing, allows you the opportunity to alter its course towards a free state of mind.
Every day, we find ourselves facing 100’s of decisions. Each time we make a verdict, we have to move forward with the consequence of that choice. No matter how small the predicament is, it’s up to us to make a decision. This can create fear and anxiety in most people, but it should be something that brings you great joy instead. You have this unique power to define your existence through each and every decision that you make. What are some of the most recent choices you’ve made? Do you find yourself constantly replaying old scenarios in your mind to see where you went wrong and where you could improve? We are too HARD on ourselves friends! Why?
Let’s be honest, we’ve all had such difficult lives in this world. Everyone has a story and everyone’s opinion matters. No one is better than the next and we are all equal. So what’s the point? I could just stop here and give up, but I decide not to. I choose not to because I know there’s no powerful purpose to giving up. We are surrounded by unsuccessful stories and personal issues every time we are in contact with someone else. What is the purpose of our existence, why is it so difficult?
There are so many questions, and even more answers, my friends. Allow yourself the freedom to make your best choices, starting right now.
“Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.” – 2 Corinthians 3:5 NIV
