“If you don’t make the time to work on creating the life you want, you’re eventually going to be forced to spend a lot of time dealing with a life you don’t want.”
– Kevin Ngo
Sometimes, to improve the magnitude of our faith, we need to fall into deeper water! We need to develop our relationship with God so that He is only an arm-reach away, because if we fall and it’s too deep for us, we can at least reach out, and God is right there to stretch out His hand and save us.
When the disciples were on a boat and they saw Jesus walking on the water – Peters’ faith was tested as Jesus asked for him to walk on water and come to Him. As Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he got closer, but as soon as Peter took his eyes off Jesus, he started to sink. He shouted out: “Lord! Save me!” Jesus was close enough to stretch out His hand and lift Peter out of the water. Even though Peters’ legs failed him, his mouth was able to save him. Remember, that in life, when you are stumbling because you can’t take the pace and your legs are failing you, shout out to God to save you and He’ll stick out a hand filled with grace to meet your faith, because grace and faith go hand in hand.
We must have faith in the Word and not in the water! How often in life, when we focus on our problems – God’s impact in our lives becomes smaller. The more we choose to take the problems into our own hands because God’s timing is taking too long, the further we push His omnipotent power away. The key to unlocking our problems is to remain completely focused on God and His timing. By putting Him first and acknowledging Him as your Saviour, He becomes much bigger and your problems start disappearing.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
– Exodus 14:14 NIV
Always keep your eyes on Jesus as an example of how to live your life. Always keep your relationship with God strong enough so that He remains close enough, for when you stumble and fall. Have full faith in the grace of God!
