“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
– Martin Luther King, Jr
There are two very important sections which make up part of the fruit of the spirit. They are patience and faith. They both work hand-in-hand and carry significant importance when it comes to life as a whole. How often do you require patience each day? Countless times! Every time you lose patience, what happens? Well, other emotions like stress, short-temper, distress, anger, anxiety, violence and abnormality make a cameo role in your life. In that brief moment, we lose control of our normal selves and we switch into someone we regret behaving like, because it’s usually unethical.
Having faith in someone, something or yourself also requires patience. In order to have faith, one needs to be patient to appreciate and experience the positive outcome of that faith. The faithfulness through patience is rewarded by what you were holding faithful too. Although it is very difficult to demonstrate these amazing qualities everyday, if we could develop a pattern of incorporating them into our constant behaviour, I can theoretically guarantee that you will handle your life in a completely better manner.
“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” – 2 Peter 3:8
Use today as a testing ground in each situation you find yourself in: Acknowledge the encounters which require your patience and remain faithful that the circumstance will have an effective and positive outcome.
Have patience with the things you want to happen now and have faith in God’s timing; have faith in Him and allow Him to show you how these two fruits can change the way you LIVE.
