Are You Impatient?

Are you impatient

“Be patient and tough; someday this pain will be useful to you.” – Ovid

Do any of us truly understand what it means to be patient? As youngsters, patience is waiting a few days for Christmas to arrive. As teenagers, patience is enduring school and waiting for the end of the year to arrive. As young adults, patience is waiting for a partner to love or working towards the ideal career. As an adult, patience is waiting for your children to get ready or for the weekend to arrive. As a pensioner, patience is waiting for all your family to be safe and in good health or for the arrival of the Lord.

Whatever stage of life you find yourself in requires a certain amount of patience as well as faith that what you are waiting for, will actually happen. Alternatively if you cannot wait any longer, the attempt to rush something will always have a negative outcome because the time was not right. Patience must be learned, understood and appreciated for you to use it successfully.

By enjoying each day and the moments we live in, we allow time to do it’s thing unnoticed. Instead of wishing for tomorrow or the plans of the future, spend more time improving yourself in a complete spectrum. If you spend the same amount of time being proactive as you do grieving or wishing, you’re actually getting something done; you’re taking all the necessary steps to fulfilling those dreams.

“Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.”

‭‭- Psalms‬ ‭90:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Life without gaining and utilising wisdom is like walking barefoot over broken glass in the dark.
