“You think you deserve that pain but you don’t.”
– Richard Swersey
Most of us have a schedule that we try to follow every day. We wake up at a certain time, follow a chosen routine, attend work and take part in the activities we have planned for the day, and so forth. Now, often in life, this routine can get shaken up unexpectedly and no matter how much we try to control it, we just have no control. If we have no control, surely someone else must?
I feel it’s really important for us to remember God’s schedule for us. Of course, He is the omnipotent being that is always in full control of everything, constantly. You need to let Him reschedule your life when needed. When you try to schedule your own life, it often falls to pieces! There is only so much we have control of.
One of the toughest things you can do is give the reins of your life to someone else to control because it makes you feel somewhat helpless. However, if you are giving the reins to the power that is in control of your future, surely that makes it easier. The concern here is that sometimes you will have to do things against your will, even if it is ultimately for your benefit. This is why many choose to take control of their own lives, but remember that even when Jesus was here on earth, he too had to do things he didn’t want to for the greater good of it all.
“Now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that he was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John – although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but his disciples. So he left Judea and went back once more to Galilee. Now he had to go through Samaria.”
– John 4:1-4 NIV
Today you must focus on removing your ego and pride by allowing God to take control of your day. In every situation, good and bad, offer Him gratitude and seek His help; because He can see your whole life from beginning to end, you can only see it, day by day.
