“Faith is the sturdiest of all the virtues. It is the virtue of the storm, just as happiness is the virtue of the sunshine.” – Ruth Benedict
Faith without patience is futile. We cannot expect to see the fruitfulness of faith if we cannot allow God to work in our lives. We have to comprehend that His timing is different to ours. We cannot force the results we want in our lives and neither can we expect that our chosen solution for our lives is the one that our Father has in store for us.
Hold faith, allow the storm to pass, heed the lessons experienced in the storm. My fear doesn’t stand a chance when I stand in the love of Jesus. Every day is different and we never truly know what the day will bring. We have a guideline of what to expect but at any point things could change. It’s time to say: “Bye-bye fear, you can’t stay here.”
This is how we must fight our battles – standing in the love of Jesus; there isn’t really another way to relieve the fear, pain and sorrow except through the light, love and hope of our Saviour who has already laid the ultimate sacrifice for us. It is already done! All that we have to do now is accept that gift and pursue the example of Christ in our daily routines.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
- John 14:27 NIV
Today, strap yourself in the full armour of God. Tell Him about all your fears and worries you might have and let Him deal with them.
Your task is to implement the basics and go about your day with confidence, the rest will then fall into place. Allow God to guide you!
