Speak your mind even if your voice shakes.
Courage is defined as the ability to do something that frightens us. It is the willingness to face danger, pain, or difficulty, even when it seems impossible to overcome. The more often you do something you fear, the less fearful you become and the stronger your character around that fear strengthens.
Fear is an emotion that is triggered by the perception of danger, threat, or harm. It is a natural response that is hardwired into our brains as a survival mechanism. When we feel fear, our body prepares itself to either flee or fight the perceived danger. This response is commonly known as the “fight or flight” response. In order to develop strength in overcoming the things we fear the most, we must embrace the truth that fear is only false evidence appearing real in our minds. It is still evidence nonetheless as we recognize it, but most of what we fear never becomes a reality anyway.
Fear can be a useful emotion as it helps us to avoid potentially dangerous situations. However, when fear becomes excessive or irrational, it can interfere with our daily lives and lead to anxiety disorders. It is important to understand that fear is a normal emotion that everyone experiences. It is okay to feel afraid at times, and there are ways to overcome our fears.
Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the ability to act in spite of fear. It is a quality that is highly valued in many cultures, and is often associated with heroism and bravery. Courage comes from within, and is a reflection of one’s character, values, and beliefs. If your values and beliefs are built on a solid rock with a deep root system of truth in your identity, your level of courage will supersede those around you by a long shot.
Christ is my firm foundation; the rock on which I stand. When everything around me is shaking, I’ve never been more glad that I put my trust in Jesus because He’s never let me down. He’s faithful through generations and He won’t fail now. His promise is true and His values are essential for our success through righteousness.
“Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own.” – Philippians 3:12 AMPC
Choose life. Choose Jesus.
