“The father who does not teach his son his duties is equally guilty with the son who neglects them.”
– Confucius
Whether you are a parent or not, you were once a child and had to be raised by someone. If you completely raised yourself alone, may you be blessed eternally because that is remarkable and you should be so proud of yourself. What’s important to understand here is that we all followed the footsteps of those that taught and raised us. We are moulded into the people we learn life’s lessons from. True, as you get older and become more aware of yourself, you start dictating your own steps and begin learning from your own mistakes.
A father said to his son: “Be careful where you walk!”
The son responded: “You be careful, I walk in your footsteps.”
We must be so prudent with the example we set for all those around us. Anyone that you come into contact with will take something away from that interaction you had with them, so always strive to set a great example. The most effective way to do this is to take an in-depth look at the example of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Son of Man and only begotten son of our Almighty Creator. Delve deep into the Word of God and you will find all the necessary information required to set an example, not just for others to follow, but you will naturally set your own path straight onto a journey that will bring you life’s greatest rewards.
“Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.”
– John 5:19-20
Be the good you wish to see in the world. Spread love, not hate.
Use your words to make life, not break life.
Treat others exactly how you would like to be treated and nothing less.
Always set the best example for others, especially our children.
