“The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.” – Marcus Aurelius
After the drought, comes the rain. You tried so hard to survive the difficulty of the drought and now you’ve finally made it through to the rain. However, once the rain starts pouring, you start running from the rain because it feels like there is just too much.
We must remember that there are blessings in the drought as well as the rain but we need to stop running from the storm because God puts our blessings in the storm. If we run from the storm we are running from God’s blessings. We grow through what we go through.
The mercies of our Lord are new every morning! We are encouraged to eat well, exercise, and get an adequate amount of sleep. If we do this, we will wake up each day with renewed energy to handle the day’s problems. Going to bed late because of debauchery, television, anxiety, or distraction will only result in you not sleeping properly and waking up tired. By focusing on what’s good and pure this can be avoided. None of us enjoy feeling overwhelmed with a new, busy day ahead when our battery is flat and we just don’t have the energy. It’s of utmost importance for our supreme survival that we find a complete, balanced and wholesome routine, which allows the blessing of each new day to be fulfilled within us as it is ordained by our heavenly father.
“Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”
– Ephesians 5:15-17 NIV
