The Reward Of Faith

“Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.”

– Saint Augustine

The difficulty with faith is that it goes against the natural dynamics of how a human being operates. It is only natural for you as a human to want to see something in order to believe it. There’s a common human saying: “I’ll believe that when I see it!”

I don’t particularly pay attention to rumors, especially those that concern me. The reason for this is because I prefer to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth. It’s our instinct to not want to believe something unless we can personally conceive factual information for ourselves. Faith is no different! Once we prove to ourselves that we believe in something, it’s because we have collaborated enough evidence to satisfy our personal needs. Don’t feel bad if you’re behaving like you were naturally born too, we’re all the same; the difference comes when everyone’s variation in standards of belief does not correspond with each other.

For me, developing a love and understanding for God’s Word has been my biggest breakthrough in the transformation of the purity of my existence. The more time I spend studying the Bible, the closer I draw to the beauty of the omnipotent power and presence of our Father through His Son and our Messiah, Jesus Christ. It’s one of those amazing stories of hope, retribution, compassion and so much more and the most exhilarating fact is that it is all true.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

– John 3:16-18
