The greatest lesson that I learned in all of this is that you have to start. Start now, start here, start small and keep it simple.
God is just and a justifier. He vindicates and acquits us of sin in order for us to be righteous. God not only removes the penalty of our sin but the guilt as well.
We can approach His throne of Grace because we are innocent and uncondemned. The work of the blood of Jesus is what justifies us; we cannot justify ourselves in our own righteousness. God justifies by placing the penalty of all our sins, even those to come, on Jesus.
Jesus has paid for our sins on the cross already. No matter how often the accuser comes before God to point out all our imperfections, we have already been convicted and our penalty has already been paid. So it is that we are saved by faith in Christ and not by the good things we do. (Roman 4:28)
Grace and works are on the same side; you cannot have grace without works. God justifies the soul that puts faith in Christ. It is by God’s justification and grace that we achieve what we do. When we receive Christ we have already stepped into eternal life now. Our works deserve no payment from God as His Grace was given to us before we did any works.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16 NIV
Works dont position us; we work because we have been positioned.
