You Can Make A Difference

“Your past is a lesson… Not a life sentence. Forgive yourself and focus on the future.”

Mel Robbins

We are so hard on ourselves. Without even realizing it, we bring ourselves down more times in a day than we tend to acknowledge. Every time we speak negatively about ourselves or belittle ourselves through our daily defeats, we are slowly adding to the pile of anguish and frustration that gets subconsciously cast onto our shoulders which slowly begins to weigh us down; consequently resulting in a burnout or breakdown.

Honestly, it’s not that I want to be hard on myself, I just don’t know that I’m doing it. I realize now that I have to consciously make an effort to remind myself when I do bring myself down to be kind and gentle. If we treat ourselves that way, how will we treat others?

I feel that it’s very important to contribute to each other’s well being in our society. Constantly remind others to be graceful and compassionate, not just to other people but towards themselves as well. We are all cast into this tornado of event after event that we hardly have time to breathe anymore. Our daily routine is so hectic and packed to the brim that we have forgotten our social fundamentals.

“Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” – ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Spend less time looking at screens and more time looking into the windows of our souls. Stare into people’s eyes again and let’s remember what it feels like to be human.
